As someone who had been "planning" her wedding for approximately 6 years prior to actually being proposed to, I really thought that I would have the whole thing under control. I mean, I had Pinterest, all the magazines, and several friends who were already married--also, I'm a control freak and love to plan things-- so really, I thought I'd be fine. If anything, I thought I might just have a "day-of" person to take control of the day and just let me, my parents, my groom, and everyone else really enjoy the day without having to worry about anything other than making sure I didn't spill red wine on my dress. And then the amazing night came when my now-husband finally popped the question and the inevitable onslaught of questions began. We weren't engaged 2 minutes before I had people asking me my colors, the date, the venue, etc. etc. etc. Admittedly, I had a few things already in mind (we dated 6 years people) But it became very apparent that I desperately needed someone to help me through the entire process, and not just the day-of. The wedding-powers-that-be put Julie in my life through her husband Keith, who I worked with at the time (and who also became part of the wedding-planning process). Before I was engaged, Keith had mentioned all the events Julie either had planned, or was currently planning and showed me some of the incredible pictures. So when I started searching for help with our wedding, I knew exactly who I wanted. Julie and I are very much the same-- very detailed-oriented people who like to have a plan (as best you can, because hello, it's a wedding). My parents and then-fiance loved (and still do) Julie. She somehow took all of our ideas and turned them into the magical day that was our wedding. She was available day or night via all forms of communication. I never felt like I was alone. She also let me vent about the drama that inevitably comes with a wedding and would offer feedback, or just wine, or both--depending on the situation. I really don't know all of the things Julie and Keith did for our wedding-- which is kind of how my family and I wanted it. Julie really just took care of everything-- from making sure I had a realistic wedding-day timeline, to being the point-of contact person with the vendors, to decorating our reception, to helping with the rehearsal and dinner, to making sure my dad and I didn't faint before walking down the aisle, to just being a friendly and warm face for the 12-months leading up to our big day-- she was truly amazing. We kind of just "let go and let Julie." It was wonderful to just be able to show up and to have confidence that everything had been taken care of. She was also respectful of our budget, something that our family is forever grateful for because, as some people know, not all vendor's are so cognizant or respectful. I really cannot recommend Julie enough for any event, big or small, that you need planned. Any event brings on a certain amount of stress, and it is so helpful and comforting to know you have someone like Julie in your corner. Truly, our wedding went off without a hitch--in large part thanks to Julie and her amazing planning. I'm so thankful for her, and am blessed to call her and her family friends. I could not have been happier with our big day, or with Julie. Thank you for everything.
